Alejandro Patricio

Production & General Manager

Alex has been with Rote Greenhouses since 1989, long enough to remember when pothos were just pothos and bottom heat was still an experiment. These days, he oversees production across the entire operation, bringing a steady hand, sharp eye and decades of experience to every crop that moves through the greenhouse.

He’s not one for titles, but he's the reason the Patricio pothos exists. It was a two year propagation process that took the kind of attention you can't rush or fake. Whether he’s checking root development, tracking a promising mutation or walking a new grower through the why behind a method, Alex leads by doing things right.

Alex is always hungry to learn, often connecting with other growers through the San Diego County Flower and Plant Association. What's his favorite event? The annual fishing trip. Whether he's in the greenhouse or out on the ocean (still talking about the greenhouse), Alex brings the same quiet focus, steady consistency and deep appreciation for the discipline behind great plants.
