Staghorn Fern

Botanical Name: Platycerium bifurcatum

Common Name: Staghorn Fern

Origin: Southeast Asia and Australia

Color: Silvery-green fronds with soft texture

Growth: Upright to arching; mounted or potted habit

Normally the Staghorn Fern is part plant, part wall sculpture with its antler-like fronds and shield leaves giving it a wild, textural look that works mounted, hung, or potted, but this is a little cutie in a 4" pot. It absorbs moisture through both roots and leaves, and prefers bright, indirect light with good air flow. Strange in the best way, and easier than it looks.
